Bathurst Campus Covid Update – August 14th 2021
Dear Bathurst Skillsetters,
As most of you will be aware, our region has been ordered by the State Government to go into lockdown, in order to manage the COVID situation.
The purpose of this message is to inform our Bathurst Skillset Community of the College learning arrangements for the foreseeable future.
Effective immediately, the Bathurst campus will close and adopt a remote off site learning model. For those people who were with us last year you have been through this experience which will be replicated in the same format.
For our new students, off site learning involves a combination of utilising your Tribe contacts, a resource learning resource package that will be delivered in a contactless manner to your residence and the use of the internet and social media to stay in connected and deliver lessons.
Each student will be contacted by their tribe leader on Monday, after 11 AM and advised of the arrangements they can expect for the roll out of the remote learning. If you have not been contacted by the end of Monday, then please assume they are having trouble contacting you and be pro-active by making a call yourself.
Be assured that we have planned, rehearsed and are highly prepared for this scenario. We have operated in this environment before very effectively. You are in good hands.
Our Year 12 students will be a high priority and the Government has provided us with great discretion as to how we manage the assessment requirements of the HSC. Again, understand that every Year 12 student in NSW is in the same position and we will cater for your needs.
We need your faith and trust. We have got this!! As a school, our actions our an important contribution to the national fight against Covid. We stand shoulder to shoulder with our sister campus in Dubbo who are operating under identical conditions.
Stay connected, stay patient.
Best wishes,
Abbey Barrett
Head of College
